Dinosaur Provincial Park

This four day workshop will be focused on night photography. Dinosaur Provincial Park is an excellent dark sky area that offers amazing foreground opportunities. We will be staying right in the park and your accommodations and meals prepared by a red seal chef are provided. The workshop also includes two tours by Parks guides; one to a guided only area for sunset and one to a massive fossil bone bed.

This session includes a presentation on camera fundamentals and hands on time with everyone’s cameras with one-on-one help from the instructor. A three day photography workshop with accommodations included at the Pocahontas Cabins for two nights, classroom instruction and in the field guidance. You will learn to see great compositions, take manual control over your camera, learn when (and when not to) use long exposure and techniques such as focus stacking. All this in beautiful Jasper National Park, surrounded by mountains that should still have some late spring snow cover, while beautiful blue and emerald mountain lakes provide jaw-dropping reflections, and waterfalls are at their mightiest of the year with the snow runoff.

This unique workshop gives you the chance to try a variety of styles of photography with the expert instruction and guidance of two seasoned Alberta based photographers in Waterton National Park. Classroom instruction and in the field guidance will be provided for landscape, wildlife, portrait and night photography. Included in the workshop are accommodations, breakfasts and bagged lunches. Waterton in the fall will be full of colours and wildlife. The workshop is scheduled around new moon to take advantage of the dark skies in the park. Class size is limited to ensure everyone will get one-on-one help in the field.
