I first spotted this harlequin duck napping on a rock on the river. I took a few photos of it and was about to leave when it woke up and started grooming. After a few minutes it took to the rapids. I drove further down in hopes of catching it swimming. I picked a good spot, at a safe distance from the duck and watched it ride rapids then fish in a calm pool.

All my wild life images have been taken with long lenses. Do not approach or feed wildlife.
