Abraham Lake is known for its methane bubbles, but the cracked ice blocks are also a stunning feature to photograph. The year that I took this photo, the lake became snow covered early in the season, hiding the methane bubbles. But, there is always something to find! This block created an x shape that I really liked. The ice was lit with my headlamp.
