Workshop Details

The Sunrise

Sunrise is at 6:04am, and golden hour is at 5:38am. We will want to be on location around 5am, but this will be confirmed with participants based on the weather. If necessary, due to rain during sunrise, a back up location will be chosen, or we will start our day a bit later.

The Hike

Our hike begins at Bow Lake, near the Lodge and parking area. After sunrise and a warm up and snack at the vehicles, we will head out for the hike. A moderate fitness level is required for this adventure. The elevation to get to Bow Glacier Falls is 240 m and 9km distance round trip. The trail is mostly gradual and flat, but there is a steep section with some stairs. Hiking poles are recommended. The trail is maintained but uneven, with roots and rocks sticking out.

Participants should be prepared for possible cooler conditions, rain, or even snow (yes, in July).

Guiding
Monika is a Professional IGA Hiking Guide with current Wilderness First Aid and extensive experience hiking in the Canadian Rockies.

Photography Techniques
For this workshop a variety of techniques and instruction can be covered. Participants can ask for help with any techniques, from basic to more advanced. Long exposures will be used for water and waterfalls and Monika will have some demo magnetic filter sets from Maven.
Bring your questions and wish list of things to learn!
